Global Librarians is a non-profit professional association based in Croatia, dedicated to promoting the development, innovation, and international cooperation of libraries and information professionals. The organization operates nationally and internationally, supporting initiatives in the fields of culture, education, science, and lifelong learning.
Our mission is to strengthen the role of libraries as key institutions for access to knowledge, education, and inclusive participation in society. We actively promote librarianship and information science, support professional and scientific development, and encourage collaboration between libraries, educational institutions, and international partners.
Global Librarians is committed to advancing digital, information, and media literacy, fostering innovation in library services, and supporting equal and inclusive access to information for all members of society. We believe libraries are essential pillars of democratic, informed, and educated communities.
Our activities include:
- Development and implementation of national and international projects, including Erasmus+ initiatives
- Organization of professional events, workshops, conferences, and training programs
- Support for professional development and lifelong learning of librarians and educators
- Research, analysis, and dissemination of knowledge in librarianship and information science
- Cooperation with libraries, educational institutions, NGOs, and international networks
- Promotion of non-formal and informal education and capacity building
As a newly established organization founded by experienced professionals with strong backgrounds in Erasmus+ and international cooperation, Global Librarians brings expertise, motivation, and a global perspective to every project we undertake.
We are open to collaboration with partners across Europe and beyond, working together to strengthen libraries, empower professionals, and improve access to knowledge worldwide.
